A message from your Board of Directors

Community First and our Board of Directors are thrilled to announce the appointment of Gord Harrison as Community First’s new CEO. Gord assumed his new responsibility on December 9, 2020. Over the past 36 years, Gord has served Community First in a variety of roles. Most recently, Gord was the Chief Financial Officer overseeing Finance, Corporate Support Services, Facilities and information Technology.

Board Chairman, John Haines shares: “Gord has all the traits and skills that your Board has set as a standard for our organization. In the many years I have worked with him, Gord has shown that his life is built on strong, solid values such as integrity, compassion, honesty, and purposeful work.”

We are excited for the possibilities that this new leadership will bring and look forward to another prosperous year in 2021.

YNCU supports Shakespeare Firefighter's fundraising efforts - May 14, 2021 Expand/Collapse

“The Shakespeare Firefighter’s Association does so much for our community on a volunteer basis,” said Tanya Drouillard, manager of member services at the credit union’s Stratford branch. “We hope our contribution will encourage other businesses in the community to donate, as the equipment will not only help to keep them safe, but also increase the likelihood of survival and long-term recovery for those in need.”

Lara Stilin is a role model for women and young professionals.

At 33, the Sault Ste. Marie native is a chartered accountant and financial expert, the youngest person to be named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Your Neighborhood Credit Union (YNCU), of which the city’s two Community First credit union branches are a part.
